Welcome to GR's Website or Web Log

Hello everyone. This is my inaugural post to my Webnode website. I want this to be a kind of ongoing journal or diary or chronicle of my thoughts, my actions, my struggles and hopefully my successes. I'm really looking forward to this experience. I'm going through some tough times right now and I need some positive release and outreach. I think this blog will help me to do that as well as help me keep my sanity. I will share the good, the bad, the ugly; I will share everything, warts and all.

Oh, and yea, that's me on the left. On the pages contained herein, I intend to opine, talk, chat, and share but never dissemble. I love to argue...well, that's not true. Let me explain. I like to debate -- yea, that is much more accurate to describe my feelings. I love tossing about new ideas about politics, health, sports. Heck, pretty much about anything.

I also have a great passion for all things health. While my education is in communication, I have been a dilettante, if you will, but have learned a lot, too, by my constant study and researching of it.

That researching led me to actually create a few websites on health-related matters. The following are a couple of my websites that I hope you will check out. They are:

That's it.

Things I Like

  • I have three college degrees. I have a bachelor's degree in English, a master's degree in management and another master's degree in public relations. I graduated second in my class with both graduate programs
  • I play the classical guitar
  • I love to play softball
  • I love to run
  • I love to read
  • I love Shakespeare
  • I love English grammar -- yes, I'm bit of a nerd!
  • I love watching movies on my big screen 55-inch TV
  • I've never been to Europe but really want to go
  • I love dogs and cats
  • I love libraries
  • I love the Internet
  • I love Facebook
  • I love Mexican food
  • I am a Conservative
  • I want to meet a beautiful, wonderful woman. So far, that has eluded me.
  • I love Dictionary.com. It's very helpful. I am an English major and really like words so I find myself going to that site quite a bit.

Things I'm Thankful For

  • I have great friends
  • I have been able to travel a little bit (although not to Europe)
  • I have good health
  • I have a functional car even if it's not new anymore (have a Honda)
  • Have the necessities of life

Looking forward to exploring this with you. I hope you enjoy the journey with me.

The Case for Medicinal Herbs

I've long been an admirer of medicinal herbs. They work. Period. The below content is a speech I wrote for a graduate school project. I felt is had some "giddy-up" to it so I thought I would submit it here. In the summer of 2003, then Los Angeles Lakers basketball coach Rudy Tomjanovich was...

Stupid Grammar, Spelling & Punctuation Errors

I was so mortified. I have been looking for a job and one of the things you need to do is have a really well crafted and well written resume. I had labored over my resume. I had diligently and carefully wrote, re-wrote, and edited it to death. When I moved from California to Salt Lake City, Utah, I...

What Happened to Me Thanks to a Smelly Little Animal Called Penguin

I was doing fairly well until Penguin hit on Tuesday, April 27, 2012. (I think it was a Tuesday, anyway.) I was not getting rich but was at about $3,500 per month income from my CayennePepper.info, Nutritional-Supplement-Bible.com and BeePollenSecrets.com sites. I wasn't real aggressive with SEO...

Is Cayenne Pepper a Health Secret?

I'll never forget the first time I saw my master herbalist friend chug down an eight-ounce glass of cayenne pepper water. He put a large teaspoon of cayenne powder into the glass, poured in about 6 to 8 ounces of warm water, mixed it and then poured! I couldn't believe it! He drank it all down. I...
